The large serif masthead conveys sophistication and aligns with the feminist fashion genre like Elle and vogue. Its placement across the top of the page with wide kerning suggests authority and elegance. The tagline ‘the uks no1 fashion magazine’ clearly signals ideological positioning. The person on the cover is photographed candidly in a festival environment as we can see through the tents and casual clothing. This casual authenticity aligns with feminist values or realness and resisting artificial beauty standards. Her pose with hands on her hips also promotes confidence and independence. However, the outdoor camping setting clashes slightly with the high fashion editorial typography which contrast with the style of magazine I am aiming for.

 With the use of serif fonts in the headings, I have presented an intellectual approach to my magazine cover which I am aiming for. I successfully have represented multiple feminist celebrities which aligns deeper with feminist culture. However, one thing that I would change is the font sizes and spacing. The varying texts make the cover look out of place and reduces sleekness. In my final piece, I aim to keep all text smooth by having 3 different font sizes maximum to reduce the clutter. I will also make sure that all the copy is readable and does not overlap with the background. This had taught me that I need a smooth and decluttered background to have a successful magazine. The barcode also feels out of place and draws attention in a distracting way. In my final piece, I will make sure the barcode is small and in the corner. The colour palette is mostly pastel and outdoor tones such as greens, oranges, blues. This feels warm and summery, but it isn’t aligned with a high-end wintery fashion aesthetic I was hoping for, and it’s not aligned with my audience mood board. 

In terms of representation, I have successfully presented the identities of feminist celebrities. For example, Emma Watsons activism and Greta gerwigs revolution. This is something I would like to keep in my final piece as it presented the ideology and message that I am aiming for in my magazine cover.
